Fonroche solar streetlights to be rolled out in Senegal

French solar lighting specialist will provide 50,000 street lamps to cover a quarter of Senegal. The French State is a major stakeholder in the deal having provided financial support, whilst French construction company Eiffage will undertake street-level installation.

He speaks to us about this project, recently awarded to the Paris-based architecture studio against competition from American firm Perkins Eastman. Ultimately it was not only by the lessons RPBW learned from its work on the Paris’ new law courts (Palais de Justice) that won over the Canadian jury, but above all the convincing manner in which the RPWB team applied the logic of urban planning and design to the project.
